Catalyst Project 2007 deadline passed

Bord Scannan na hÉireann/ the Irish Film Board (IFB) would like to thank all those who submitted an application for the Catalyst Project as the deadline for this years scheme has now passed.

A total of 49 applications were received and are currently being processed. The successful three projects will be announced in early November when a total of €750,000 will be awarded to enable the production of three feature films with a maximum budget of €250,000 each.

Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, FÁS Screen Training Ireland, Filmbase, The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland, TV3 and the Arts Council have devised this original mentoring scheme, which will train filmmakers in the art of very low-budget filmmaking and fund successful participants to produce a feature film. The scheme is aimed at producers, screenwriters and directors and applications were open to those who attended the training workshops held in April and May of this year.
