Fluffy Gardens on nationwide DVD release

Fluffy Gardens , the Irish pre-school series featuring an eccentric mix of animal characters that all live in Fluffy Gardens, is on nationwide DVD release this Friday, 14th September in all good retail DVD and toy stores. The DVD will feature 10 episodes of the series with all 10 episodes also available in Irish.

The show, written and directed by Jason Tammemagi, has become hugely popular on RTE Two's Den Tots strand. Due to its growing popularity, RTE now plans to air each episode twice daily from September, narrated in English in the morning, with the Irish language version following in the afternoon. This is in response to recent figures which show an increase in the popularity of the Irish language, with the number of children being enrolled in Irish-speaking Primary Schools increasing six fold over the past 30 years.

With scenarios and stories originated by creators who grew up in Ireland, each episode features an individual character telling their story with a gentle-paced narrative targeted at children old enough for their first bedtime story. The themes are positive and uplifting, with a focus on the strength of friendship and community.

The series has proved to be a hit in Australia, where it ranks third in its age group across all channels, and it has also just launched on the Cartoon Network in the UK and on the Discovery Kids network across Latin America.

Financed by Bord Scannan na hEireann/ the Irish Film Board, BCI, RTE, Cartoon Network, ABC and Target Entertainment and produced by Monster Animation, it will soon air in France, Norway, Sweden, Slovenia and Israel. The English version is narrated by Michael Maloney and the irish language version is narrated by Macdara O Fatharta.
