Success of Once makes Channel 4 news
The phenomenol success of the award winning Irish film ONCE has made primetime news in the UK.
Despite being produced on a shoestring budget and being shot with a skeleton crew on a 17-day shoot ONCE has now taken over 20 times its production budget at the Box Office in the US.
With no stars, no big names behind the camera and no dazzling visual effects, ONCE has defied all the odds to become a major Irish success and one of the most positively reviewed films in the US so far this year. When Steven Spielberg saw it, he said it gave him "inspiration for the rest of the year" and Bob Dylan loved it so much he asked Glen Hansard to go on tour with him.
Channel 4 news came to Dublin to meet John Carney, the director and Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, the two leads to talk about the film and its outstanding success.
