IFI Board Seeks Director (Dublin Based)

The Board of the Irish Film Institute (IFI) wish to appoint a

DIRECTOR OF IRISH FILM INSTITUTE (DUBLIN BASED)

The Irish Film Institute is the national body for the promotion and preservation of film culture in Ireland. IFI is a dynamic, multi-faceted institute with an annual audience of 300,000 people for screenings, event and activities, and a proactive exhibition programme for the National Film Archive.

IFI operates the IFI Centre and Cinemas, the Irish Film Archive, a nationwide Film Education Programme as well as a range of specialist film festivals in Ireland and worldwide. The National Cinemobile (a travelling cinema) is also part of the IFI.

The Director is responsible for the strategic development of the Institute; leading a team of 60 staff to deliver this broad programme of activity and directing the day-to-day operation of the IFI.

Qualities required of candidates include-

A broad knowledge of film culture
Proven experience of strategic leadership
At least 3 years senior arts management experience
Insight of the Irish arts sector
Excellent interpersonal skills
Sound financial acumen
Experience of securing both public and private sector funding
