Successful Short Cut Projects Announced

The five successful projects for the Short Cuts scheme have been announced by Bord Scannan na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board. The Short Cuts scheme is aimed at fostering new talent and encouraging innovative short film making in Ireland. Successful short films produced in the past as part of the scheme include New Boy (Stephanie Green) which won the Audience Award for Best International Short Film at the recent Corona Cork Film Festival, Colder (Dir: J.J. Harrington) and Screwback (Dir: Brian O'Malley).

• The Door
   Company: Octagon Films Ltd
   Writer/Director: Juanita Wilson
   Producer: Louise Curran

Short Cuts is co-funded by Bord Scannan na hEireann/the Irish Film Board and RTE. This will be the last year of the Short Cuts scheme.  The successful five shorts will premiere at the Galway Film Festival next year.
