Nominees Announced for Pantene Best International Actress Award - People's Choice Award
The 5th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards (IFTAs) are delighted to announce the four nominees for the ‘Pantene Best International Actress Award', one of only three categories that will be voted for by Irish audiences to celebrate the best international female performances throughout the year.
The Irish public can choose their favourite international actress from the following nominations:
• Cate Blanchett Elizabeth: The Golden Age
• Jodie Foster: The Brave One
• Keira Knightley: Atonement
• Hilary Swank: P.S. I Love You
Voting is now open until midnight Monday 28th January 2008 - to vote simply log onto www.ifta.ie/peopleschoice. Prizes for voters include spa weekends for two.
This year's winner will be announced at the Awards ceremony, which takes place in Dublin on Sunday, 17th February 2008, and broadcast as live on RTÉ One that evening at 9.30pm.
Previous winners include Keira Knightley and Helen Mirren for their respective roles in King Arthur / Pirates of the Caribbean and The Queen.
The Academy announcements of all of the Irish industry nominees across film and television will be made next week, and will mark the official countdown to the Awards ceremony on February 17th, during which time the Academy members and jury knuckle-down to their final round of voting.
Following on from the success of the Awards in 2007, this year's Awards ceremony promises to be a highly prestigious and glamorous event with a host of film stars, TV personalities, directors, producers and distinguished guests in attendance to celebrate the great talent that exists within the film and television industries in Ireland and around the globe.
