Alan Gregg Joins Brown Bag Films - New Canadian Office
Brown Bag Films, the award-winning animation studio, announced today that Alan Gregg, former VP of the kids division at Alliance Atlantis, has joined Brown Bag Films as Vice President, International Production. Working closely with Director of Development, Gerald Murphy, Gregg will oversee the expansion of the company's development slate in both television and feature films with an emphasis on pre-school, family and tween properties. He reports to Cathal Gaffney, Managing Director, and will be working out of the newly-opened Toronto office.
"We are delighted to welcome Alan Gregg to our team here at Brown Bag Films," said Gaffney. "Alan brings with him over 10 years of experience in the children's arena and this hire marks a real step forward for the company as we embark on a period of growth into the international marketplace. Toronto is one of the big centers in children's programming and we're excited to have a presence there."
"I'm very excited at joining the dynamic team at Brown Bag," said Alan. "It's a creative-driven environment with a reputation for innovative and original work and I'm delighted to be part of this exciting expansion."
A veteran of the children's business in Canada, Gregg joined Alliance Atlantis from top Canadian kidcaster, YTV, in early 2000. There he was instrumental in shaping the kids' production/distribution division and oversaw the creative development of numerous properties, both animated and live action, including Henry's World, Ace Lightning, Dragon Booster and, most recently, Lunar Jim. In 2005, he was promoted to Vice President, Production & Distribution and took over responsibility for international sales of the kids library.
"I'm proud of my work at Alliance Atlantis" added Alan, "and I look forward to this latest chapter of my career in kids' television. I'm a very collaborative person and the ethos at Brown Bag is to work closely with individuals who share our strong creative vision and to help them achieve everything they hope to in a property."
