Irish man receives Academy Nomination for Best Achievement in Sound
Peter J Devlin has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Achievement in Sound for his work on TRANSFORMERS along side Kevin O'Connell and Greg Russell. Originally from Northern Ireland, he now resides in Los Angeles working mainly in Feature Production and his long list of credits include KING ARTHUR, THE JANE AUSTEN BOOK CLUB and the upcoming NIXON. He worked for the BBC Audio unit in Belfast from 1981 to 1988.Peter joins Saoirse Ronan, Daniel Day Lewis, Seamus McGarvey and Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova as nominees. Upon receiving his nomination he said he was "so delighted to see Ireland so well represented this year".
This is his second Academy Award Nomination for Best Sound. He previously was nominated in 2002 for his work on PEARL HARBOUR and has been nominated three times for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for a Feature Film in the Cinema Audio Society Awards in the U.S.
