Irish-German Bi-lateral Co-Production Agreement
At the Cannes Film Festival today, Mr John O’Donoghue TD, Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, and Dr Christina Weiss, Federal Commissioner for Culture and Media in Germany, agreed to conclude a Bi-lateral Co-Production Agreement in the Film and Audiovisual areas.
Minister O’Donoghue said, “This is an important development for the Audio-visual and film sector in Ireland and I am delighted to be in a position to strengthen the business and cultural cooperation between Germany and Ireland. I am confident that the conclusion of this Agreement will be of mutual benefit to both Irish and German filmmakers”.
It is envisaged that the formal signature of the Agreement could take place by the autumn.
