IFB Delighted to Announce the Student Media Best Script Award Shortlist
Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) is delighted to announce their involvement in this years 3 Student Media Awards which will take place in Tripod on Tuesday, April 15th.The IFB is official sponsor of the Film Script of the Year category, which is awarded to the most original, well-written, imaginative script showing the most insight to the cinematic form.
Entrants were asked to submit a short film script which was then subjected to the same rigorous process as scripts submitted to the IFB for funding. After being read by an external reader and short listed, each entrant received a readers report which delivered professional and constructive feedback.
The Student Media Best Script Award Shortlist is as follows:
- Fishy Tale by Conor O'Kelly
- Baby Bump by Emma Keaveney
- Fiddle De Dum Stores by Lorraine Harton
- Square Eyes by Eoin Maher
- Motive by Denis Ryan
This is the first year that the IFB has been a sponsor of a category in order to offer budding screen-writers the opportunity to experience the development process that a film script will go through and to recognise young screen writing talent who will pursue writing as a future career.
