Making of a Prodigy Wins at the Algarve Film Festival

The Making of a Prodigy, which was funded as part of the Irish Film Board's Short Cuts scheme has won the Grand Prize at the Algarve Film Festival this weekend.

The film is about an art teacher who finds her class blessed by an exceptional talent and in her efforts to secure her discovery’s place in modern art history, she finds her devotion is put to the test in this modern Faustian tale.

The film was produced by John McDonald at Fantastic Films and was written and directed by Colm MacCarthy. The Algarve Film Festival aims to promote short films at an international level.
