Irish Short The Sound of People wins at 8th Jameson Belfast Film Festival
The Sound of People, directed by Simon Fitzmaurice picked up the Jameson Award for Best Short Film at the closing night of the 8th Jameson Belfast Film Festival on Saturday.The short film, which received funding from the Irish Film Board was selected for competition at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and screened at the recent Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.
It tells the story of a moment in the life of an 18 year old boy, played by Martin McCann, standing on the brink of his life and death. McCann has previously starred in Closing The Ring, directed by Richard Attenborough and My Boy Jack, directed by Brian Kirk.
