Irish Films Screen at Prestigious Tribeca Film Festival

EDEN, the feature film collaboration between director Declan Recks and award winning playwright Eugene O'Brien will screen in competition at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival, which kicks off today.

Selected from over 2,327 international submissions, EDEN, which premiered at the Jameson Dublin International Festival earlier this year, will screen as part of the World Narrative Competition.   

Produced by David Collins for Samson Films (ONCE) under an innovative financing collaboration between Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) and RTE, with substantial financing from the BCI, EDEN takes a look at  the slow distintegration of a marriage during the week running up to a couple's 10th anniversary. 

NEW BOY, the award winning Irish short film will also screen in competition.  Directed by Steph Green and produced by Tamara Anghie and Zanzibar Films as part of the IFB's Short Cuts scheme, the short will screen among 79 international shorts all competing for $15,000 in prizes.

Originally founded in 2002 by Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro, the Tribeca Film Festival has grown to become one of the biggest film festivals in North America, screening over 55 world premieres from 31 countries.
