DECODING ONLINE FILMMAKING: FROM WEBISODES TO VIRAL MARKETING
The Lighthouse Cinema, 4 pm
Online filmmaking is continually changing, with recent successful projects such as Sofia's Diary and KateModern proving major hits; at the other end of the spectrum we have onlline viral marketing, a phenomenon that (according to Wikipedia) 'facilitates and encourages people to pass along a marketing message voluntarily'. It's the holy grail for twenty-first century media.
Chaired by Stephen McCormack (Wildwave), the panel will seek to discuss what works - and what doesn't - in the online filmmaking arena, and what's coming next... Panelists include Sofia's Diary producer Triona Campbell, Bebo Ireland Head of Sales Philip McCartney, Darklight viral guru Fionn Kidney (Strategem) and Irish internet phenomenon Sophie Merry (Bandy Toaster).
