Write Here, Write Now. Call for Entries!!!
Submissions are now open for Dublin International Film Festival International Screenwriting Award in association with Walt Disney Motion Pictures, Ireland.The Dublin International Film Festival in association with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (Ireland) have come together to recognise the centrality of the writer to the filmmaking process in a brand new screenwriting award, Write Here, Write Now. This substantial award will acknowledge and support the creation of original and innovative scripts, through a combination of development funding, as well as extensive promotion within the film industry.
The winning script will be announced during the Dublin International Film Festival 2009 and will receive a cash prize of €7,500.
Judging Panel: Leonard Abrahamson, David Flynn - United Talent Agency, John Hurt, Trish Long - Walt Disney Motion Pictures, Ireland (Chair), Sue Bruce Smith - Film Four and Irvine Welsh.
Conditions of Entry:
- All scripts must be received by 4pm on the 19th September 2008.
- The competition is open to all Irish born writers / Irish citizens / Irish residents.
- Only unproduced feature length scripts will be accepted.
- Writers must be over the age of 18 and there is a limit of 2 scripts per writer or writing team.
- All entries must be accompanied by an official JDIFF entry form.
- Applicants must notify Dublin International Film Festival if their script becomes optioned or sold, while under consideration for the competition.
An entry fee of €100 per script submitted must accompany each application.

The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival runs from Thurs 12th - Sun 22nd February 2009. The Irish Film Board is an industry partner of the festival.
