32A opens in selected cinemas in Ireland on August 15th
32A, the debut feature film written and directed by Marian Quinn will open in selected cinemas across Ireland from Friday August 15th.The film stars Aidan Quinn (Legend of the Falls), Orla Brady (How About You), Jared Harris and Kate O'Toole in a heart-warming tale about the ‘in-between' time of the heroine Maeve's (played by 13 year old Ailish McCarthy) life, when she is no longer a child and not yet a woman.
The film explores the threshold between childhood and adolescence and has already received much critical acclaim since it premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2007 where it won the Best First Film Award. Marian won The Tiernan McBride Award for Scriptwriting in 2002 for the project and was a Rising Star nominee at the IFTA's earlier this year. The film was also selected for the Generation 14Plus section of the prestigious Berlin Film Festival in February.
It was produced by Tommy Weir and Janey Pictures with funding from the Irish Film Board, RTE, BCI, MBB and MDM.
