Sheffield Doc/Fest Spotlights Ireland with UK premiere of Seaview
This year the IFB and Sheffield Doc/Fest have partnered together to spotlight Ireland. There will be a delegation of Irish production companies traveling to the festival which takes place from November 5-9.
The Irish documentary SEAVIEW will have its UK premiere at the festival along with GABRIEL BYRNE: STORIES FROM HOME directed by Pat Collins.
Directed by Paul Rowley and Nicola Gogan, this will be the latest international screening of SEAVIEW following its South American premiere at the Rio de Janeiro Film Festival and its screening at the São Paulo Film Festival earlier this month.
The Sheffield Doc/Fest is a film festival, industry session programme and market place, offering pitching opportunities, controversial discussion panels and in-depth filmmaker master classes.
As part of this partnership, the IFB will introduce the panel event Theatrical Docs RIP which will have a panel of international speakers including Jason Solomons (Chair), Simon Chinn (Man on Wire), John Smithson (Touching the Void, Thriller in Manila), Molly Thompson (American Teen) and Hugo Grumbar, ICON.
SEAVIEW has had a successful year on the international film festival circuit having already screened at the prestigious HotDocs Festival in Toronto and the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year. And there is no let up in sight with the documentary also due to screen at the Leeds International Film Festival, the Beauvais Film Festival and the Kaunas International Film Festival shortly.
