Mark O’Halloran to present at the 21st European Film Awards
Irish actor Mark O'Halloran will be one of eight actors, previously named as Shooting Stars at the Berlinale in previous years, who will serve as a presenter at the 21st European Film Awards (EFA) ceremony in Copenhagen on the 6th of December. Introduced not long ago in Berlin as newcomers to the world's film scene, the eight actors are now sought-after names internationally, ready to be ambassadors for European cinema at the EFA ceremony this year. As of 1998, the Shooting Stars event has been supported by the EU's MEDIA Programme.Mark has numerous acting and writing credits to his name, including the award-winning Adam & Paul and Garage.
European Film Promotion (EFP), the promotional network for European cinema and initiator of Shooting Stars, will welcome Stefano Accorsi from Italy, Stine Fischer Christensen from Denmark, Anna Geislerová from the Czech Republic, Hannah Herzsprung from Germany, Thure Lindhardt from Denmark, Anamaria Marinca from Romania, Labina Mitevska from Macedonia along with O'Halloran.
Marion Döring, Director of the European Film Academy says: "Like European Film Promotion with the SHOOTING STARS programme, the European Film Academy and EFA Productions are aiming - through the annual European Film Awards - to bring European films to the audience. Actors play a vital role in raising the public's attention because they are the ones the audiences identify with. This is also the reason why in the European Film Awards ceremony most of the awards are presented by actors - thus serving as ambassadors of the film cultures in Europe."
