Das Vaterspiel awarded the Grand Jury Prize at the Diagonale Festival in Austria

Kill Daddy, Goodnight (Das Vaterspiel) written and directed by Michael Glawogger has picked up the Grand Jury Prize at the Austrian Film Festival (Diagonale) in Graz, Austria over the weekend.

The festival which is in its 12th year screened over 237 films and videos over the course of the five days of the festival.

Kill Daddy, Goodnight tells the story of Kramer, the son of a corrupt politician, who creates a computer game in which players annihilate their fathers.  He travels to New York after receiving an unexpected call from a long-lost lover where he finds himself pitched into a confrontation with the past.  Meanwhile, his computer game becomes a runaway commercial success.

Produced by Christine Ruppert and Lesley McKimm of Tatfilm and Newgrange Films, the film received funding from the IFB, Filmstiftung NRW, MFG, DFFF, Eurimages, OFI, OFI Filmfonds Vienna and Land Niederosterreich.
