Granny O'Grimms Sleeping Beauty picked up the Gold Heart Award for Best Animation while New Boy scooped Gold Heart Awards for Best Film and Best Narrative at the Heart of Gold Film Festival.  Produced by Tamara Anghie for the Short Cuts scheme, New Boy gained an ACADEMY AWARD® nomination for Best Live Action Short Film earlier this year.  Meanwhile the Frameworks short Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty produced by Darragh O'Connell has already won the Audience Award for Best Short Film at the Omaha Film Festival, Nebraska in the US as well as the Best Animation award at the recent Irish Film and Television Awards.

As well as picking up the Honourable Mention at the Chicago Irish Film Festival Whatever Turns You On has received nominations for Best Short Film at the El Sawy International Film Festival in Egypt which takes place next week and the 11/22 Int. The Man Inside, written and directed by Rory Bresnihan is based on a short story by Fernando Sorrentino and was produced by Lucy Dyke as part of the Signatures scheme.

Another IFB funded short film has been experiencing success. PUMP ACTION, written and directed by Frank Reid is currently screening as part of the Dutch online film festival Go Short and has been bought by HBO Hungary for broadcast in June. It was produced by Shirley Weir as part of the Short Shorts scheme.
