Irish Animated Series BALLYBRADDAN to air on RTE this month
BALLYBRADDAN, an Irish animated drama series directed by Jason Tammemagi (Fluffy Gardens) is due to hit Irish television screens from April 20th. It will air daily on The Den on RTE 2 for four weeks with omnibus editions being aired at the weekends.The series will be officially launched by Minister Barry Andrews this week at an event in the Croke Park Museum and is funded by Bord Scannan na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, RTE and the BCI.
Written by Noel Mc Gee and Nora King, the series follows the lives of 5th Class children of Ballybraddan primary school, where the hurling pitch is the one place that brings them all together where their differences don't matter. BALLYBRADDAN follows the lives of these children and the adults that support them as they grow, mature, play, compete and find out who they really are.
The series which consists of 20 x 13-minute episodes was produced by Gerard O'Rourke for Monster Animation. Monster Animation's previous series Fluffy Gardens was a major success across the globe with the programme screening in Australia, on the Cartoon Network in the UK and on the Discovery Kids Network across Latin America.
BALLYBRADDAN will be launched internationally at MIP Junior in October.
BALLYBRADDAN will air on RTE 2 daily from April 20th at 15.30 Monday-Friday, on Saturdays at 11am and Sundays at 10.30am.
