New Irish language drama Na Cloigne Benefits from the IFB Regional Support Fund
NA CLOIGNE (The Heads), a new three part Irish language drama directed by Robert Quinn (Seacht, Cré na Cille) is currently on location in Galway for six weeks with a local spend on €1.3 million.
The supernatural thriller which was written by Lauren MacKenzie and Darach Ó Scolaí, will star Darach Ó Dubháin, Barry McGovern (The Tudors), Siobhán Ní Cheallaigh (Ros na Rún) and Mac Dara Ó Fátharta (Ros na Rún, The Clinic).
The 3 x 50 minute series tells the story of a young couple, Seán and Nuala, who become embroiled in the horrible and gruesome murders of two young women.
Produced by Ciarán Ó Cofaigh for ROSG, NA CLOIGNE benefited from Bord Scannan na hEireann/the Irish Film Board's Regional Support Fund which acts as an incentive to film and TV productions to shoot outside the Dublin-Wicklow area, by helping to cover local costs thereby incurred.
The drama will be broadcast on TG4 later this year and was funded by the IFB, TG4,and the BCI.
