Whatever Turns You On wins award at Aspen Shortsfest

Declan Cassidy's short film WHATEVER TURNS YOU ON has continued its international success by scooping yet another award, this time at the prestigious Aspen Shortsfest in the US where the film beat off stiff competition from 60 finalists to pick up the Best Short Short award after qualifying from more than 2,500 entries.

The renowned festival is considered one of the Oscar qualifier festivals, so by winning the award, WHATEVER TURNS YOU ON is now eligible for entry to the Academy Awards next year.

The short film already has an impressive festival record having won awards at the Florence Film Festival, the Filmstock Film Festival in Britain and the Chicago Irish Film Festival.  In total, since its premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh last July, it has picked up seven awards and has been officially selected into 15 festivals.

Produced by Bill Tyson for Timesnap Ltd, the film was produced as part of the Short Shorts scheme co-funded by the Irish Film Board.
