Irish Features, Documentaries and Shorts Selected for Newport Beach Film Festival
A selection of Irish features, documentaries and shorts have been selected to screen at the Newport Beach Film Festival in California this week.Brown Bag Films animated short GRANNY O'GRIMMS SLEEPING BEAUTY directed by Nicky Phelan will kick off the festival on Thursday 23rd April when it screens with the Opening Night Gala film Lymelife.
The Irish surfing documentary WAVERIDERS directed by Joel Conroy will screen as the spotlight presentation of the Action Sports Series on Friday April 24th. Narrated by Cillian Murphy, the film which is currently screening in selected cinemas across Ireland and the UK, showcases the world class surfing destinations available off the North West coast of Ireland.
Hot from winning the Special Jury Prize at the International Istanbul Film Festival last weekend, Ian Fitzgibbon's dark comedy starring Dylan Moran A FILM WITH ME IN IT and the award winning short film THE WEDNESDAYS directed by Conor Ferguson will also screen during the festival.
Granny O'Grimms Sleeping Beauty, Waveriders, A Film With Me In It and The Wednesdays all received funding from the Irish Film Board.
