Blinder Shoots Sensation

The second week of principal photography on SENSATION has begun in Newtownmountkennedy, Co Wicklow. The Tony award nominee Domhnall Gleeson stars as a horny young farmer in Tom Hall's (Bachelor's Walk) long anticipated film SENSATION.

Filming is underway in the Wicklow area and will continue until the last week in June.  This is Tom Hall's second feature following Wide Open Spaces which is due to premiere at the Edinburgh Internaitonal Film Festival later this month.

The film, written by Hall, also stars New Zeland actress Luanne Gordon (King Kong) who plays escort Kim and Patrick Ryan (Whistleblower) as the jealous friend Karl.  Owen Roe (Intermission, Wide Open Spaces), Eleanor Methvyn (Becoming Jane) and Kelly Campbell (One Hundred Mornings) also star.

Sensation is a darkly comic love story that starts out as a story of lust.  It details the relationship between Donal and an aging Antipodean escort, Kim.  They begin as client and call-girl, evolve into lovers and finally business partners.  What starts as a soulless contract develops into a bittersweet love story.

The film is an Irish-Dutch co-production with finance from the Irish Film Board, the Rotterdam Film Fund, Screenscene and Section 481.

The DOP is Benito Strangio (Hoover Street Revival, Crush Proof) from Rotterdam, the designer is Tamara Conboy (Once) and the film will be cut by Nathan Nugent in Screen Scene in Dublin.  Post production will take place between Screen Scene and Editson in Rotterdam.

Sensation is Bl!nder Films second feature this year following One Hundred Mornings and is being produced by Katie Holly and Kieron J. Walsh (Raw, When Brendan Met Trudy).
