Maciej KarpiÃ…"žski elected as member to EFP's Board of Directors
Maciej KarpiÃ…"žski, Deputy Director and Head of International Relations at the Polish Film Institute, is welcomed as the new representative on European Film Promotion's (EFP) Board of Directors. He was elected by the EFP members since Pilar Torre had left her office as Deputy Director General for Film Promotion at ICAA, Spain. Pilar Torre had been a member of the Board of Directors since 2005.Her re-election was recently confirmed by the EFP members during the Cannes International Film Festival.
EFP's Board of Directors is now composed of: EFP President Éva Vezér (Magyar Filmunió, Hungary, General Manager), EFP Vice President Claudia Landsberger (Holland Film, Managing Director), Christian Dorsch (German Films, Managing Director), Maciej KarpiÃ…"žski (Polish Film Institute, Deputy Director), Simon Perry (Irish Film Board, CEO), Christian Juhl Lemche (Danish Film Institute, Festival Manager Feature Films) and Jaana Puskala (Finnish Film Foundation, Head of International Promotion).
"With more and more members from Central and Eastern Europe joining EFP, I very much appreciate another representative from these countries on the Board", EFP president Éva Vezér comments.

Since the foundation of European Film Promotion in 1997, the number of EFP members has increased from 10 to 30 export and promotion organisations from 31 countries. In recent years, it has mainly been film organisations from Eastern Europe who have been the ones joining EFP, most recently the Macedonian Film Fund. EFP is financially supported by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union.
