Latest Sales Deals Announced for Irish Feature Films
It has been a successful few months for many Irish feature films, a number of which have achieved a steady flow of sales deals worldwide this year.
Notable high profile international sales deals have been concluded this year with Magnolia Pictures picking up US distribution, as well as international distribution rights for Treasure Entertainment's THE ECLIPSE, directed by Conor McPherson. The film recently sold to Jump Street Films for Australia and New Zealand at the Cannes Film Market.
US distribution rights for Lance Daly's KISSES, produced by Fastnet Films, have been picked up by Oscilloscope, with Focus Features selling internationally.
Two Irish films produced by Alan Moloney at Parallel Films, PERRIER'S BOUNTY starring Cillian Murphy and directed by Ian Fitzgibbon, and TRIAGE starring Colin Farrell and directed by Danis Tanovic, are currently being sold by Hanway Films, who have concluded several deals recently, including Latin America, Japan and Scandinavia.
Newgrange Picture's HAPPY EVER AFTERS directed by Stephen Bruke is currently being represented by Films Distribution. It made several notable sales at the recent Cannes Film Market, being bought by Hopscotch for Australia and New Zealand, and Lucky Red for Italy.
James Flynn for Octagon Films currently has two films actively selling. Neil Jordan's latest film ONDINE has sold to numerous territories to date with Paramount Vantage closing many deals this year including the CIS, Germany and France. Also, A SHINE OF RAINBOWS an official Irish/Canadian co-production directed by Vic Sarin has sold to many territories including Benelux, Australia, Latin America and Korea.
Pathe, who in recent years represented the IFB films The Wind That Shakes The Barley and Breakfast on Pluto are currently selling Oliver Hirschbiegel's FIVE MINUTES OF HEAVEN, co-produced by Element Pictures, and have concluded many territory deals throughout the world, including Spain, Turkey and the US on the back of the films success at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
Finally Fantastic Film's THE WAKE WOOD, directed by David Keating is currently being sold by the reborn horror film company, Hammer Films and has sold to the UK, Greece, Portugal and the Middle East to date.
