Call for Applications: EURODOC Workshop for Documentary Producers based in Ireland

Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland is delighted to partner with EURODOC on a new intensive workshop for the development of documentary film projects for producers based in Ireland. A selected group of 10-12 film professionals will have the opportunity to attend an intensive 5-day residential workshop in Cork (taking place October 6th to 10th) focusing on documentary project development and coproduction.
Since 1999, EURODOC – International Lab for Creative Documentary Production - has been training generations of professionals across Europe and the world. Its main program, designed by producers for producers developing a documentary feature-length or series project with international potential, has consistently contributed to training engaged and passionate creative producers and cultural entrepreneurs from all over Europe and beyond, now part of a network of more than 1700 professionals from 75 countries worldwide.
In 2025, the annual program (March to October) that trains 40 producers from across the globe is going to Italy, Slovenia and Ireland: the third and last session of the program will be held in Cork and will welcome group of Irish producers for a unique opportunity to get a deeper insight into international coproduction skills, benefit from personalized mentoring, and to create new connections with international documentary professionals.
When?
Monday, October 6th (11am) to Friday, October 10th evening. The workshop will end with a celebratory dinner on Friday night.

Metropole Hotel, Cork, Ireland.
Who?
The workshop is reserved for professionals based in Ireland. The workshop is open to Producers or Directors-Producers with a film project at the development stage. The projects can be at different stages: early development, development or in production. Two seats can be reserved for Producers at a pivotal stage of their career who wants toattend for career development purposes, without a project, or with just a company slate.
Participants Observers: the workshop is also open to industry professionals involved in institutions, organizations, televisions, which work with or support documentary films (commissioning editors, film funds, etc.).
Programme
The participants will mainly work on the development of their projects with their tutor, Ina Fichman (Canada), and several invited experts through one-to-ones, to strengthen the creative and strategic aspects of their project and expand their knowledge in European and international coproduction. They also benefit from full access to the masterclasses and case studies (screenings followed by a Q&A focusing on the production process) with the participants of the annual training. Each participant will have access to a thorough online program of panels, masterclasses, and webinars from the moment of their selection until the end of 2025.
Please note we also curate a special BIPOC program (group work, individual mentoring, and special panels online) that you are welcome to join once you are selected. Do not hesitate to mention your interest in your application.
Assessment process: Self-assessment of skills before and after the course, assessment of acquired skills by tutors after the course.
English is the main language of the workshop (Group work, masterclasses, case studies).
Costs
Selected participants will attend EURODOC for 5 nights and 5 days. 70% of their accommodation and subsistence (lunches, coffee breaks and dinners) costs will be covered by EURODOC and session partner Screen Ireland. Participants are expected to cover the balance of the costs, estimated at €400, as well as their travel expenses.

A PDF document of 10Mb max. and 15 pages max. including the following documents in English will be requested, containing:
- Cover page with title / name of the producer who will follow the training in case of selection;
- Logline & story summary;
- Director's intentions;
- Budget & financing plan (in Euros) - production or development;
- Production strategy;
- Biography & filmography of the director(s);
- Biography & filmography of the producer(s) (including the applicant’s);
- Presentation of the production company;
- One page comprising video links: links to previous films (with passwords) of the director(s), links to previous films (with passwords) of the producer(s) and trailer/teaser / visual samples of the project (mandatory) - not more than 10 minutes;
- Letter or short video (not more than 3 minutes) explaining your motivation to attend EURODOC.
