Screen Ireland is seeking to recruit a Senior Project Manager – Feature Film Lead to oversee the feature film department across live-action, animation and documentary. The deadline for the position has now been extended to Monday, 16th August at 12:00pm.
Senior Project Manager - Role Description
This is a new role which will see the Senior Project Manager – Feature Film Lead, work across the whole slate of feature film projects from development to production. The role will involve the Screen Ireland feature film slate overview and management. The role will supervise the feature film department which will encompass development and production across live-action, animation and documentary. The role will involve working closely with Irish talent - writers, producers and directors. It will also nurture key relationships with financiers, broadcasters, co-production partners, sales agents, distributors, festivals and streaming platforms.
The role is situated within the Production and Development team and will work closely with the Project Management team, the Production and Distribution Manager, the Development Executive, the Production and Development Coordinator and the Business Affairs team. The role reports directly to the CEO and DCEO.
The role will consist of:
- Strategic management and oversight of the slate of feature film,
- Supervising the feature film team,
- Developing feature film policy with the DCEO and CEO,
- Working with the feature film team to assess project readiness from a creative and financial perspective for production funding,
- Working with the feature film team to support Irish writers, producers and directors across the development of individual projects to financing and packaging,
- Building relationships with other production financiers including film distributors, broadcasters, state film funding agencies, sales agents, distributors and other co-financiers,
- Working closely with the marketing department to ensure maximum festival exposure,
- Ensuring that all projects will reach their maximum audience potential in terms of the attachment of sales agents and distributors,
- Attending meetings to discuss and make recommendations to the Board of the Screen Ireland in relation to applications for development funding and production funding,
- Work with the Executive and Management Team to develop creative talent working in the feature film space,
- Must possess a commitment to Diversity and Inclusion within the Screen Sector.
Senior Project Manager – Essential Experience
The successful candidate must have sound proven script development and editorial experience.
- Experience of working in the film industry and with extensive experience in feature film,
- A thorough understanding of the challenges faced by the independent feature film sector,
- Demonstrated experience in the feature film script development process and the assessment of projects from a creative perspective,
- Demonstrated experience of feature film production,
- Demonstrated experience of dealing with the financing and packaging of feature film projects,
- Experience of managing and leading teams,
- Proven ability of working with Irish creative talent including writers, directors and producers in bringing projects from development through to production and distribution,
- Experience of the marketplace landscape including international producers, sales-agents, distributors, co-financiers, streaming platforms and other stakeholders,
- An ability to balance the cultural and creative considerations in supporting Irish creative talent in feature film,
- A demonstrable understanding of to the unique role of a national screen agency.
Experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
Particulars of the Position
- This position is at Engineer Grade II level and is remunerated on the scale starting at €63,275.
- Access to the Screen Ireland Single Pension Scheme for the duration of the contract.
- The term is a 5 year fixed term position.
- It is full-time and exclusive to Screen Ireland and successful candidate will be required to sign the Screen Ireland Code of Conduct.
- The role will have a 9 month probation period.
- Flexible working may be negotiated.
- Annual leave (ex bank holidays) of 25 days
- National and international travel will be required.
