Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland Funding News: Update to Funding Principles & Criteria
Posted: 24th September 2024
Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland would like to announce an update to the agency's core funding principles and criteria. These updates apply to the overall assessment criteria across production and development funding. The updates have been made to provide greater clarity and to ensure that Screen Ireland is welcoming all suitable projects for consideration.
As a result, there will no longer be one singular criteria that needs to be fulfilled before further assessment - this key funding principle of 'Creative Excellence' will now be replaced with 'Creative Vision'. 'Accessing All Audiences' has been updated to 'Access Audiences' to provide further clarity, though there is no change in how this criteria will be assessed.
Screen Ireland’s assessment and decisions in relation to funding are guided by factors which include editorial and creative merits, as well as a number of important investment considerations. Taking these changes into account, the new funding principles and criteria will be broken down under the following headings:
- Creative Vision
- Talent Development
- Accessing Audiences
- Culture & Additionality
- Industry Growth & Creative Ambition
We advise all applicants to read the updated Production Funding Guidelines and Development Funding Guidelines in full ahead of making an application for funding.
