The 38th Galway Film Fleadh has announced acclaimed actor, playwright and director Rory Kinnear as the guest for its 2026 Actors' Masterclass, presented in association with Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland.
Taking place on Saturday, 11th July 2026 during this year's festival, the annual masterclass has become one of the Fleadh's most anticipated industry events, providing emerging and established actors, filmmakers and creatives with direct access to some of the most respected voices working in international screen and stage production.
Widely regarded as one of Britain's most accomplished performers, Kinnear has built an extraordinary career across film, television and theatre, collaborating with many of the industry's leading directors and production companies. His screen credits include Men, The Imitation Game, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Peterloo, Bank of Dave and the James Bond franchise, where he portrayed Bill Tanner in Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.
His television work spans acclaimed productions including The Diplomat, The Rings of Power, Black Mirror, Years and Years, Penny Dreadful and Say Nothing, demonstrating a remarkable range across contemporary drama, historical storytelling and large-scale international productions.
The conversation will be moderated by leading Irish casting director Maureen Hughes, whose work has helped shape generations of Irish screen talent. Together they will explore Kinnear's approach to performance, character development and navigating a career that successfully bridges theatre, television and film.
Beyond his work as an actor, Kinnear is also an award-winning playwright and director, bringing a unique multi-disciplinary perspective to the discussion. The three-hour session will offer audiences an in-depth look at the creative process behind some of the most celebrated performances of the last two decades, while examining the evolving landscape of the international screen industry.
