Imirt and Ardán to Deliver Renewed Screen Ireland Digital Games Portfolio

Posted: 5th August 2026

Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, Imirt and Ardán are delighted to confirm the renewal of the Digital Games Portfolio. The fund, valued at €500,000 will deliver direct support to digital games creatives and studios in Ireland, building on the progress made when it was first launched in 2025.

Initiatives in the portfolio include the Irish Games Fund led by Imirt and the Irish Games Talent Incubator led by Ardán.

The Irish Games Fund allows Irish studios developing original IP to access development funding of €50K and prototype funding of €12K, as well as a new Release Fund for games that are ready to launch.

Receiving funding to help develop TÖLT with stage 2 of the Irish Games Fund has been nothing short of transformative for the project as well as for my life, both professionally and personally. Having never received funding in the 8 years that I've been releasing games under ENIGMA STUDIO, this funding has enabled a paradigm shift in the way I design and develop games.

 - Jamie Gavin (ENIGMA Studio), 2025 participant

The Irish Games Talent Incubator is an 8-week programme designed to upskill new entrants in the games sector, including individual mentorship from industry peers, targeted workshops, and facilitated peer-learning.

The Irish Games Talent Incubator really helped me grow as a solo dev and see my work in a more practical, industry-focused way. Through mentorship and workshops, I got better at pitching, understanding my audience, and shaping my project. It gave me more confidence and a clearer idea of how to turn my ideas into something real and viable.

- Alejandra Vargas, 2025 participant

These initiatives will be open for applications in the coming months, and further opportunities will be announced before the end of the year. If you would like to be notified of them please fill in this expression of interest form.
