Irish-Finnish Childrens series Harry & Bip picked up by Disney

Posted: 20th February 2017

It has been announced that Disney has picked up Harry & Bip an animated Irish-Finnish co-production series for children, from Irish distributor Monster Entertainment.

The short 15 x 2 minute series follows penguins, Harry and Bip, as they slip, slide and splash across their vast icy home. Whether they are having a dance-off with some seagulls, trying to walk over the moon, or building a BBQ on the ice, the penguins always have an adventure up their sleeve. Meet the other local residents who appear from time to time—a sleepy walrus or two, a horde of seagull tourists and of course slippery fish all get caught up in our heroes’ schemes.

Monster Entertainment is now shopping the show internationally, having already secured the deal with Disney, with further episodes in development. The series previously premiered on RTÉ 2 in December 2016.

Harry & Bip is directed by Leevi Lemmetty and produced by Tamsin Lyons of Ink and Light and Muste ja Valo Oy in Finland, with funding from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, RTÉ, Finland’s YLE and the Finnish Film Foundation.
