Myriad Pictures is pleased to announce the acquisition of Deadly Cuts, an Irish feature film comedy written and directed by Irish director Rachel Carey, starring Angeline Ball (The Commitments), Victoria Smurfit (The Beach, Once Upon a Time, About a Boy), Ericka Roe (Herself, Dublin Murders), Lauren Larkin and Shauna Higgins (Red Rock, A Date for Mad Mary).
Myriad Pictures acquired the international sales rights excluding UK and Ireland and will premiere Deadly Cuts at the Marche du Film Pre-Cannes Screenings in June. The film was produced by Auveen Lush, Ciara Appelbe and Liz Gill (Vikings, Tomato Red).
Filmed on location in Ireland and supported by Screen Ireland, Deadly Cuts is a black comedy set in a working-class hair salon where young stylists Stacey, Gemma, Chantelle, along with boss Michelle become accidental vigilantes and community heroes as they take on the gang members and gentrifiers threatening their community.
O'Sullivan Productions LTD produced Deadly Cuts in association with Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
Wildcard Distribution is distributing the film in Ireland and UK.
