Neasa Hardiman’s Sea Fever Wins Inaugural Frontières Post-Production Award at the Marché du Film in Cannes

Congratulations to Neasa Hardiman’s Sea Fever, which has won the inaugural AvanPost Digital Cube Post-Production Award at the Frontières Platform in the Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival.

The prize, worth €150,000 in-kind services at Romanian company Digital Cube, was presented at a lunch event on 12 May.

Sea Fever, which is written and directed by Neasa Hardiman, is an ambitious and exciting thriller, set on a fishing trawler off the West coast of Ireland.

Marine biology student, Siobhán (Corfield) and the ship’s captain, Fiona (Collette) struggle to survive and save the crew, when the trawler becomes infested with a strange and deadly parasite.

The title, which will start filming later this summer, is produced by Brendan McCarthy and John McDonnell of Fantastic Films with Epic Pictures serving as executive produce as well as co-financing the project. Sea Fever will be co-produced by Frakas Productions, Belgium and Bright Pictures, Sweden, with the support of Bord Scannán na hÉireann/ the Irish Film Board (IFB), the BAI, Film i Väst and Wallimage.

Sea Fever is developed with the support of the Creative Europe Programme & the IFB and was a project participant on international co-production market, Frontières and winner of Best First Screenplay at the London Film Awards.
