Screen Ireland and Film Fund Luxembourg announce successful selected projects of Co-Development Fund for Female and Non-Binary Filmmakers

Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and Film Fund Luxembourg are delighted to announce the four selected projects of the Ireland / Luxembourg Co-Development Scheme.  

The fund was launched at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and aims to improve the representation of female and non-binary filmmakers across the screen industry, in both Ireland and Luxembourg. For the 2023 iteration of the scheme, applications were encouraged from projects that engage with new, emerging, and underrepresented voices. 

A selection committee, composed of representatives from Film Fund Luxembourg and Screen Ireland, assessed the submitted projects.  

The four successful projects are: 

  • Come and Be A Winner (Feature Film – Irish support €9,885, Luxembourg support €10,035) 

Irish Production Company: Keeper Pictures Limited 

Luxembourg Production Company: Deal Productions 

Written by Siofra O’Meara, produced by Katie Holly, Evan Horan, Alexandra Hoesdorff. 

  • First Day (TV Drama - Irish support €16,600, Luxembourg support €16,600) 

Irish Production Company: Zanzibar Films 

Luxembourg Production Company: Deal Productions 

  Written and directed by Gintare Parulyte, produced by Edwina Forkin, Alexandra Hoesdorff. 

  • Maya Butterfly (Feature Film – Irish support €16,600, Luxembourg support €16,600) 

Irish Production Company: Hail Mary Pictures 

Luxembourg Production Company: Samsa Film 

Written and directed by Edwina Casey, produced by Rich Bolger, Conor Barry, Bernard Michaux. 

  • Quest For Love (Feature Film – Irish support €16,600, Luxembourg support €16,600) 

Irish Production Company: Wild Atlantic Pictures/Brightside Pictures 

Luxembourg Production Company: Les Films Fauves 

Written and directed by Antonia Campbell-Hughes, produced by Macdara Kelleher, John Keville, Gilles Chanial.
