Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland is delighted to congratulate the creative teams behind feature documentaries The Siege of Paradise and Guggi, which have been selected to screen at the Tribeca Film Festival this June.
Short film His House, Home, directed by Aisling O’Regan Sargent and written by Philip Emo, has also been selected for the festival, screening in the Shorts collection ‘Care Package’.
The Siege of Paradise is directed by Gar O'Rourke and produced by Andrew Freedman, Ken Wardrop and Jessie Hayden for Irish production company Venom. In Cinque Terre on Italy’s northern Riviera, fewer than 3,000 locals endure over four million tourists each summer. Across one chaotic season, six very different lives play out in parallel, revealing a sharply funny and surprisingly tender story of paradise under pressure in the age of social media driven tourism.
Guggi is directed by Ian Thuillier and produced by Ian Thuillier and Gabriella Janni. The film is an intimate portrait of abstract painter Guggi that traces his journey from humble Irish beginnings—with friends Bono and Gavin Friday—through his post-punk phase and toward international acclaim as an uncompromising artist.
His House, Home was funded by Screen Ireland’s flagship short film scheme, Focus Shorts, and directed by Aisling O’Regan Sargent, written by Philip Emo and produced by Killian Casey for All My Friends. Closeted Luke cares for his dad with MS. When a queer carer arrives, he is forced to confront his fear of coming out, and their strained relationship.
The Tribeca Film Festival takes place from June 3rd to 14th, 2026.
