Posted: 28th March 2024

Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, the national agency for the Irish film, television, animation and documentary industry has announced that applications for the 2024 round of the Screen Stakeholders Funding Scheme will open in April.

The Scheme is open to Irish and international organisations, guilds, social enterprises and training providers with a strong track record of developing skills initiatives for the screen sector and enables them to apply for funding to deliver skills related activities that support the Irish screen sector over a 6–12-month period. Applicants can apply for a range of skills development activities including courses, events, masterclasses, workshops, seminars, webinars, conferences, panel discussions, networking events, mentoring, shadowing, writers room opportunities, consultancy support, data gathering, research reports, and the provision of initiatives that support access to the screen sector.

Some notable projects funded from the 2023 round include: Storyhouse, a new screenwriting festival celebrating the art of storytelling for the screen and inclusive lab for emerging writers; X-Pollinator, a cross-disciplinary professional development and networking initiative for female, trans and non-binary talent; The WideShot Programme, a series of community-led filmmaking workshops aimed at young creatives from diverse backgrounds; IGNITE, a cross-border talent development collaboration for documentary filmmakers; the ACE Animation Special, a project-based workshop aimed at experienced producers developing and producing long-form/feature film animation production for international audiences, and more.

More details regarding funding guidelines and application deadline for the 2024 call for applications will be announced shortly.
