Kino Lorber has acquired North American rights to Kevin Roche: The Quiet Architect following the film’s domestic Irish cinema release where it played to considerable critical acclaim. Kino Lorber is currently booking the film to regional North American festivals with a release later in the year.
The film receives its German theatrical release on 8 March via Salzgeber & Co Medien with a DVD/Blu-ray & VOD release to follow in late Spring
Wavelength Pictures will be seeking further sales at the upcoming Berlinale / European Film Market where it makes its market debut. The deal between Kino Lorber and Wavelength Pictures was negotiated by Richard Lorber, CEO of Kino Lorber and John Flahive, MD of Wavelength Pictures.
Kevin Roche: The Quiet Architect is a biographical profile of the enigmatic Pritzker Prize winning Irish-American architect who still works at the age of 95. Director Mark Noonan (You’re Ugly Too) takes a highly creative multi-layered approach to the subject examining Roche’s life and work in the context of many key architectural questions. The film combines Roche’s personal reflections and philosophy with highly cinematic representations of his architecture courtesy of award winning DoP Kate McCullough, to create a uniquely poetic visual portrait.
Kevin Roche: The Quiet Architect is produced by John Flahive of Wavelength Pictures with Nicky Gogan of Still Films as executive producer alongside Keith Potter of the Irish Film Board. The film is backed by the Irish Film Board, Ford Foundation and Graham Foundation. Wavelength Pictures is also handling world sales
