Biography
Aisling is the director of the critically acclaimed MAUDIE starring Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke. Her other well-known film SONG FOR A RAGGY BOY is considered to be one of the most important films made about Ireland’s Industrial Institutions. Both films have won her over 40 international festival awards.
Aisling has directed over twenty television films. Her most recent film ELIZABETH IS MISSING saw the return of Glenda Jackson to the screen after an absence of 27 years. Other films include AN INSPECTOR CALLS starring David Thewlis. ROOM AT THE TOP starring Maxine Peake and A POET IN NEW YORK starring Tom Hollander. She has won three BAFTA Awards and two Royal Television Awards.
Aisling is the first Irish graduate from the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield and a Fine Art graduate from Dun Laoghaire School of Art.
She is currently in development on a number of projects including adaptations of two novels, The Ballroom by Anna Hope and The Undertaking by Audrey Magee.
