The Community / Singing for Survival
As the occupants of a rapidly declining residential Centre prepare for life in a ‘Community’ they have long aspired to reach; a troubling discovery forces one resident to question the tightly spun certainties that govern their sheltered existence.
I am absolutely thrilled to have been selected for the Screen Ireland Spotlight scheme and to have the opportunity to develop my project with the guidance and support that the scheme offers. As a filmmaker with a background in writing and directing for theatre, I am especially excited by the opportunity to adapt my stage-play ‘Singing for Survival’, and to explore the unique challenge of bringing this high stakes dystopian drama to the screen.
