Course Profile

Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland is delighted to welcome David Dusa, IP developer and writer with Dark Riviera to lead a workshop on story on Thursday, 29th February 2024, from 1pm to 5pm.

David has extensive experience as a writer and writer/director. He is currently writing the TV series A Long Night In Paris, together with Leora Kamenetzky (False Flag, Fauda) adapted from Dov Alfon’s bestseller Unité 8200, for TF1 and Keshet (Elephant International, France). He is writing Intra for Vendôme Films (Source Code) & Baxtory together with Edgar Marie a film to be directed by Xavier Gens (Gangs of London, Lupin TV series) and the US feature Autonomous together with Dan Kern, for producer Jay Van Hoy (The Lighthouse). He has worked with Norwegian writer Sara Johnsen (Occupied, July 22, Vinterkyss) on the teen horror series Bloodlust. He is currently co-writing several graphic novels series, including Robot Lord Rising for Caurette, Nephilims for Le Lombard and The Man Who Sold the World and developing narratives for video games.

Compelling storytelling lies at the heart of all successful media forms, and as media platforms increasingly converge, talented writers stand to benefit from a plethora of opportunities. While film, television, video games, short-form videos, graphic novels, and books provide diverse outlets for writers' narratives, these mediums tend to operate in separate silos, limiting the reach of stories.

This workshop aims to empower writers to transcend traditional media boundaries and explore the possibilities of developing their stories across multiple platforms. By crafting their narratives as intellectual properties from the outset, writers can increase their chances of reaching a wider audience and maximizing the commercial potential of their work.

This course is suitable for writers with an interest in developing their stories for multiple platforms.
