Accessibility Statement

Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland (Screen Ireland) is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020.

This accessibility statement applies to content published on www.screenireland.ie

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 level AA, due to the non-accessible content listed below.

Non-Accessible Content

Should you wish to contact us regarding accessibility please see the feedback and contact information section below. We will do our best to ensure that any content you request is made available and accessible in a timely manner.

Some content on Screen Ireland’s website does not fully comply with the European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020. For example:

  • Not all documents in PDF are correctly labelled or tagged.
    • The agency is currently in the process of reviewing and improving the accessibility of PDF documents, and is working to move away from the use of PDF documents on our website.
  • Video content is used across the Screen Ireland website, both for visual design and in the promotion of trailers for film and television projects. Screen Ireland uses both Vimeo and YouTube to embed video content across our website.
    • Where video banners are used for visual design across the site, Screen Ireland is working to ensure that content is captioned appropriately, where applicable.
    • YouTube and Vimeo videos are embedded using iFrames. Some of the components of these external iFrames have known accessibility issues, outside of Screen Ireland’s control to resolve.
  • The Screen Ireland website currently has certain known issues regarding ARIA attributes.
    • These issues are currently being reviewed with our website development agency as a priority, for resolution in the second quarter of 2024.

Preparation of this Accessibility Statement

This statement was prepared on 13 February 2024 following a review of a sample number of pages against all relevant WCAG 2.1 AA Success Criteria and relevant EN 301 549 clauses. This assessment was performed using the following tools:
