Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland as part of S481 Skills Development Screen Talks is delighted to present a special talk with Jay Roewe from HBO/MAX/Warner Bros. Discovery taking place at the Irish Film Institute on Monday, 22nd July 2024 from 16:00 to 18:00

As Senior Vice President of Production, Global Incentives and Production Planning, Jay Roewe manages and oversees film & TV incentives both domestically and internationally for all productions produced by HBO and MAX. Jay works with production executives and filmmakers to decide where to film projects and helps facilitate the production process around the world. With 40-plus years of film and television production experience, Jay has worked in various formats including documentaries, music videos, television series and feature films. Throughout the course of his HBO career, Roewe has been involved with projects ranging from Real Time with Bill Maher and Game of Thrones to Succession and The Last of Us. Before joining HBO, his background included line producing projects such as Billy Crystal’s Midnight Train To Moscow and Madonna’s Truth or Dare

Jay will be in conversation with Rebecca O'Flanagan, producer and co-director of independent production company Treasure Entertainment. Rebecca has produced a number of award-winning feature films including The Eclipse (2009), My Good Vibrations (2011), The Stag (2012), The Handsome Devil (2015), Viva (2016), Metal Heart (2017), Papi Chulo (2018). Television credits include The Running Mate (2006), Your Bad Self (2009), Finding Joy (2018) and Smother (2021-23). In early 2023, Flora and Son, directed by John Carney and produced by Treasure Entertainment and Likely Story, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The film, which Rebecca served as producer, was bought by AppleTV+ for distribution. In recent months, Rebecca has served as executive producer on Treasure’s indie Feature Kathleen Is Here, and as a producer of the new RTÉ BBC co-production Blackshore. She is also a producer on John Carney’s latest film project Power Ballad, which is currently in post-production.
