Dr. Martin Diesbach

Dr. Martin Diesbach is one of Germany’s most renowned lawyers for media and entertainment law. In particular, he advises German and international media companies on digital business models and all legal matters around the development, financing, production and exploitation of audiovisual products, with a focus on film financing. One of his core expertise is production work, including rights clearance, with an almost 20 years of wide ranging experience acting for German and US / UK clients. Martin also represents clients in copyright litigation and is regarded as Germany’s leading experts for the defence against "bestseller claims". He regularly gives lectures on media and entertainment law, publishes on current legal questions and was one of the experts on the Legal Committee of the German Bundestag to reform German copyright law. Martin was awarded "Lawyer of the Year in Entertainment" by Best Lawyers in 2016 and continues to be recognised as a leading media lawyer in Germany by Chambers Europe, Best Lawyers, Legal 500 Germany and the International Who’s Who Legal of Sports & Entertainment Lawyers.  The German JUVE Handbook lists Martin as one of the leading copyright experts in Germany.
