Roger Childs is RTÉ’s Senior Production Executive and Commissioning Editor for Religion & Society. He has over 30 years’ experience as a multi award-winning producer, executive producer and commissioning editor, having worked at RTÉ, the BBC, Channel 4 and WNET, New York. He has created content across many different genres, including documentaries, drama, arts, entertainment, live music, magazines, discussions, interviews and current affairs. At RTÉ, he created the celebrity interview series The Meaning of Life and has been responsible for a wide range of other impactful content, including Bishop Casey’s Buried Secrets, The Last Irish Missionaries, Patrick: A Slave to Ireland, Blindboy’s Land of Slaves and Scholars, Pope Francis: The Sinner, Ireland’s Dirty Laundry, The Secret Peacemaker, In Times of Trouble, A Ring and a Prayer, Guns & Rosaries, Countdown to Calvary, One Million Dubliners, Born That Way, The Hills Are Alive – a Year at Kylemore Abbey and the soon-to-air Iron Ladies. Many of these would not have happened without jigsaw co-production funding.
