Arianne Hutch - Writer Biography

Arianne Hutch is an actor, writer, and producer from Dublin. She holds a B.A in English and Drama (UCD Dublin) and a PgDip in Film Studies (Trinity College Dublin). She has trained as an actor in the Gaiety School of Acting & with David Scott (Dublin), The People’s Improv Theatre & The Network (New York). She also attended producing classes in the People’s Improv Theatre. Confessions of a Seat Filler was unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic so, she took part in Mob Theatre’s 8 week TV Pilot screenwriting course instead and from there, the idea for Stepping Out was born. Following this, Arianne was selected for Screen Ireland’s Spotlight Development Scheme for emerging writing talent. 

Her writing explores themes of disability, identity, love & friendship and femininity. These themes have been explored in her other previous works also. She has written in all formats and genres from plays, screenplays, novels, poetry and short stories and has written, performed and produced her own work at fringe and theatre festivals. 

Arianne has recently moved to London and is searching for her next creative project and role.

Stepping Out - Short Synopsis

Cassie is tired of her dull life in Dublin. When she overhears her boss saying she’s a diversity hire, then her friends don’t turn up for her birthday party and even her mother has a boyfriend? She’s done. That's the final straw.

Influenced by a weekend away visiting her best friend Adam, Cassie decides to move to London and chase a more exciting life. She quits her job and finally convinces her mother to let her go. She moves to London and gets herself an apartment. She meets new friends, a boyfriend and launches herself into a new creative career.

Cassie wants to be her own person and nothing is going to stand in her way, not even her cerebral palsy, not even herself.

She is about to discover her freedom and independence and what it means to finally stand on her own two feet.
