I'm the Boss - Short Synopsis

Kevin Huang is a college dropout, working as an assistant at a tech start-up, HiveMind, on the silicon docks of Dublin. Living without any purpose in life, he struggles to makes rent with his boyfriend Hugh Kavanagh, and takes coding classes at night, rarely sleeping.

Kevin's goal of having a career is threatened when he discovers his boss from hell, Jack O’Connor, intends on firing him.

Kevin tries to reverse his fortune by being indispensable, which proves meaningless to an egomaniac boss who takes all the credit.

As Jack continues fundraising for Series A, he takes a meeting with a powerful venture capitalist, Joanna Patel, which goes awry when his personal affairs sabotage the pitch. Kevin’s forced to intervene and pitch, which to everyones surprise, impresses Patel. Suddenly, stakes couldn't be higher when Patel demands Kevin assume a bigger role, putting him at contentious odds with Jack, who’s keen to sack him at any opportunity. Kevin befriends Will Massoud, HiveMinds new publicist, who becomes an ally in this concrete jungle.

His value hinged on attracting investors, Kevin fights for his new role to earn respect, pay rent and keep the family honour. If Kevin gets Patel and others to invest in HiveMind, it will be the making of him, earning him the career he wants most.
