Old Goose - Short Synopsis

Brothers Tom and Hawala both happily drink too much. Hawala normally with friends, Tom normally alone. Neither of them have the slightest of business acumen, yet they have been left in charge of their parents' pub for the first time while mum and dad try to rekindle their bedroom spark with a month-long tantric retreat. 5 minutes into their new tenure however, their “friend” Speedial crashes his car into the pub wall, leaving a hole the size of a baby elephant.

Over the series, and while the hole becomes part of the furniture, the siblings dream up moneymaking ideas from speed dating, “charity” boxing matches, craft beer/hipster events and karaoke nights in order to repair the damage.

Inevitably these schemes always backfire, leaving the lads exactly where they were back at the start of each episode.

With Hawala being the family favourite, their mother Joan unapologetically dotes over him, constantly worrying if he’s doing ok. Hawala is always doing ok. He breezes through life and everything falls right into his lap. Tom however is permanently stressed. In the midst of a divorce from his sharp-tongued wife Brenda by the pressure of fixing the hole, keeping the pub afloat and semi-optimistically finding a girlfriend; something Hawala has never had an issue with.

By the end of the series the hole is fixed; just in time for Brenda to turn up with her new lover and reveal her intention to take her half of it.
