C'mere to Me - Short Synopsis

In the dark corner of ‘An Shebeen’, a rural tumbledown pub, the regulars sit nodding at each other over pints. The fire in the hearth spits and crackles, warming them only begrudgingly. One throws a stick into the flames. Another glances up at the clock. At the other side of the fireplace is sat the storyteller, a Seanchaí; and by God, they announce, doesn’t the very situation bring to mind a story they once heard.

Described as ‘Drunk History meets Reeling in the Years’, C’mere to Me is a show about the good, the bizarre, and the situationally comedic in Irish history, folklore and mythology.

The show follows Colm, our Seanchaí, and a cast of eccentric pub regulars as he regales them in a time-honoured tale - though not as you may remember it.

C’mere to Me uses old forms of oral storytelling once utilised by the Seanchaí and ancient poets of yore to recontextualise and update historial & mythical stories for a modern audience.
